How Can Burning During Urination Be Treated?

My pee sometimes burns during my periods. This is a recurrent problem, but doesn't happen all the time - usually on the third or so day, maybe for a couple days in a row. When it does burn, the burn continues for a hour or so afterward and it can feel like I need to pee even though I don't. This problem sometimes occurs when it's not my period, but not usually. It can be months between incidents. It first started about a year or a year and a half ago. I haven't had sex, and it's intermittent, so I'm not sure if it fits the criteria I've seen about for a tract infection (kept coming up when I searched Google.) Am I wrong - is it likely to be that? If not, what is the likely cause? Should I seek treatment, or will it go away? age: 16 height: 5.4 foot weight: 52kg medical history: none, really. Got all my jabs etc, never had any big illnesses or history of such in the family.

Hi,

There are various reasons for burning during urination such as inadequate hydration, excess perspiration, calculus in the urinary system, narrowing of urethra, etcetera.

You must get primary evaluation with urine microscopy, ultrasound for proper management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
