Hello,
You are suffering from chronic choking cough, wheezing and
shortness of breath. You have history of asthma and allergies. You have taken antibiotics and
prednisone. Since you have
chronic cough for about six months, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get swab test, sputum test, blood tests, X- ray, CT, MRI(if required) done to detect
bronchitis,
pneumonia, COPD, etc.
You will also be referred to an ENT, to get clinically examined, get blood and imaging tests done to study sinus problems and any nasal septal deviation or
throat infection that may be causing the symptoms. Your treatment will depend on the diagnosis made. Stay away from addictions, smoking, alcohol, drugs, etc.
In the meantime, take adequate fluids, water to help your throat mucosa and system stay well hydrated.
Dehydration will trigger cough. Use room humidifier to stay comfortable. Keep cough lozenges in your mouth to prevent the mucosa from drying. Since you have allergy, stay away from polluted environment, fumes, dust, animal dander, etc. Avoid stress (emotional and physical) as it triggers asthma. Get treated for asthma.
If any lung disease like bronchitis, etc., is detected, treatment will require to be done for a longer time period. Sinus problems if detected are given conservative treatment or treated by surgery in case of DNS. Stay away from polluted air, prefer to stay in areas where the quality of air is good to prevent URTI and also control shortness of breath. Since your problem is chronic, it may take some time to get get well. Get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
