Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I can understand the problem you are facing from such a long time. Illness without recovery even when you are compliant with medication. What I suggest is to rule out other possibility causing depression such as thyroid or having a bipolar mood disorder.

Sometimes we miss out hypomania episode as depression covers it. A mood chart will benefit you in that. Adding a mood stabilizer like lithium will cover your bipolar illness and augment your antidepressant treatment as well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rohit Kothari
