How Can Chronic Leg Cramps After R-CHOP Chemotherapy Be Treated?
Hi Doctor, I am experiencing increasing intensity and frequency of severe leg cramps at night time nearly 7 years after RCHOP chemo therapy. I have tried the most potent medication)(Magnesium, potassium and calcium) to prevent cramps as well as tonic water & boron. Have you any suggestions? Neil
The chronic leg cramps after R-CHOP chemotherapy are caused by the effect of the drug vincristine on nerves. It’s called peripheral neuropathy. You may also find it hard to fasten buttons or do other fiddly tasks. they sometimes need to lower the dose of the drug. The symptoms usually improve slowly after treatment finishes, but in some people they may never go away.
I will advise you to take tablet pregabalin 75 mg twice daily after food for 3 months
Regards
