How Can Cold Clammy Skin Be Treated?

My husband for a week has clamy skin then real cold, jitters, he had EKG, Labs,Chest x-ray, bilateral carotids and all came back normal. He is about to have a nervous breakdown, if he doesn t get answers. It will wake him up if he s sleeping and he s not been able to sleep. I don t know what to do for him. He has only been in a hospital once, at that time 10 years ago he had 2 stents put in one artery.He never is sick and is not handling this very well.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Present problems
- Calmly skin.
- Mid sleep panic attacks.
- H/o stent in the heart.

Possible correlation from above symptoms would be:
1. Sleep apnea: so check nocturnal blood oxygen saturation, check snoring, also check insomnia.
2. Wake up at the sleep may be due to panic attack or narcolepsy, etc.
3. Cardiogenic shock may can cause hypotension and shock.

Please consult your doctor, get it done ECG, echocardiogram, polysomnography, chest X-ray and then get treated accordingly.
