My sister got colon cancer at 51. Had surgery removed all lower organs and now has a colonoscopy bag. She had a tumor show up later on, on I believe the left side it was removed we know spread from the colon cancer. She then got a tumor on her brain stem affects her optical nerve for seeing. See s double stacking up and down. Pittsburgh said to risky to remove this tumor. Inserted a shunt for drainage. She gets Avastin treatments every 2 weeks. Now having bleeding. I want to do what I can for her. I am willing to drive to the big cancer centers in Philadelphia or Chicago or the Mayo clinic. She has been forced to go Disability from this. From my research not sure it would be worth looking into other facilities plus I ve heard won t even have anything to do with you if insurance not good enough. This is my only little sister what her to all possible treatments. I m confused everything I look at goes to this Avastin for treatment. They have lowered the dose from 10 to 5 not sure miligrams or what only takes a half hour. This bleeding concerns me from stoma 4 times each a little more and now a nose bleed. Did stop though can not get around aches all over won t give her any pain meds say this drug don t do anything joint wise but she can t hardly go to bathroom or get up always in pain. At first gave her 200 pain pills that was ridiculous. Just not sure what to do? Should drive far away and start all over again that costs. Or go with what we are dealt with. Is their another solution? I will live with this forever if I didn t try. Please help need a good opinion its hard watching her and not sure could of done more
