I have retention conjunctiva two small White pus like substance. Was prescribed Tobramycin Dexameth and was given Lower dose due to headaches. Must take for 2 weeks. Have taken it two days Is far condition has not improved but the headaches are gone. How long does it take to see real improvement. Hesitant to have them drain cause the retention Conjunctiva can still return. This is my second return of the problem. This time I am taking Meds for two weeks.
Hi,welcome to HCM. I do understand your concern as it has recurred again.
1.Conjuctival cysts are commonly seen as single/multiple clear fluid filled sacs, which usually harmless, except for the mild ,constant discomfort while blinking. And most of the doctors, including me always do a wait and observe treatment as they resolve on its own.Treatment is required only when patients complain of irritation, where a simple pucture is performed under anaesthesia during office visit, which is a painless followed by low dose drops for pain following the procedure.
These cysts can form when your eyes are dry/allergic too.So I would suggest you to add a good OTC lubricant drops like Systane/Refresh tears 4 times a day. Also continue your prescribed Tobra+Dexa drops as 2 times a day for a week and just at bed time for a week and stop it.Avoid rubbing your eyes.Wait for a month and if it still bothers get it drained by an ophthalmologist .
2.And I believe your headache is not because of the cyst. I hope you had a complete eye exam done and had your vision tested.Any refractive error/Dry eye can also cause headache. Please get an evaluation done by your PCP to rule out other causes of Headache like Sinusitis/Migraine.
Hope this helps.Take care.
