I am supposed to have contact dermatitis. I also have hypothyroidism. My fingertips crack, split, and are extremely sensitive. The pain in all of my fingers is unbelievable to me. I use to have migraines. The pain in my fingertips is really close to migraine pain. I get nauseated from the pain. All my blood work is within normal limits.I cannot use my fingers for anything. Just touching each other is painful.I m at a loss. Dermatologist. Tried.Family practice doctor. Tried.Lab work. Done.It s very painful.
Hi. As per your case history of contact dermatitis, my treatment advice is - 1. Avoid using any new products like soap or perfume. 2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
