How Can Cough With Dysphonia Be Treated?

I am having harsh voice for almost 2 weeks. I gargle 2/3 times with salt water and having honey yet nothing is happening. It is a little better than before but it is taking long. I need to be able to sing within a week. I was having a continuous coughing problem for about two months which the doctor said happened due to allergy. I still cough a little, and now I need to get my voice back. What else do I need to do? Have I lost my voice forever? Is my vocal cord damaged or something?

Laryngitis is an inflammation of your voice box (larynx) from overuse, irritation or infection.
I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.
