How Can Diarrhea Be Treated While Suffering From Diabetes?

HI, I AM 73 AND DIABETIC TAKING TRULICITY SHOT ONCE PER WEEK. SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE SHOTS I HAVE VERY LOOSE STOOLS 2 OR 3 TIMES PER WEEK. IT HAS GOTTEN TO A POINT THAT 30 TO 40 MINUTES IS THE MOST WAIT TIME AVAILABLE. COLON CANCER HAS RAISED IT'S HEAD TWICE IN MY FAMILY. ARE THERE ISSUES OR MEDICATION?

Hello,

This is a fairly common side effect of Trulicity. It may cause diarrhea and loose stools.

If you have not been screened for colon cancer with a colonoscopy, then you should probably do that anyway, but most likely this is a side effect of the medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kathy Robinson
