Hello and welcome,
The treatment of the cyst depends upon the type of the cyst and age of the patient as well as desire for future child bearing.
As of now, any cyst more than 6 cm needs evaluation to rule out cancer. Also they may need surgical management as they are less likely to regress. The common ones are non cancerous follicular cysts and cancers are very rare.
So see a gynecologist and get your CA 125,
Beta HCG and AFP done. If these are negative the cyst is most likely a non cancerous
simple cyst. There are two treatment options for this: either remove it surgically or try a course of
progesterone tablets for 3 months. If the cyst regress it is OK, if it does not then surgery will be needed.
So do not worry. The cysts are very common and may go away with drugs.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Thanks for using HCM.
