Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The sixth nerve paralysis occurs due to hypertension and stroke. The plan of treatment is correct. The paralysis will heal with time if your blood pressure and cholesterol level remain normal. It usually takes four to sixth month. If you have a lot of trouble you can patch that eye while doing important work and diplopia won't be there.

Hope it helps.
