My son has blood and puss in his middle ear canal. They put him on amoxicllin for 10 days. Since then he has been really fussy and pulls on his ears and trying to stick his finger in his ears. Could this be a more serious problem than what my doctors are telling me. I finished the medicine today and it seems that his moods have gotten worse.
Hello dear user of HCM! Thank you for your question!
I really understand your concerns.
It seems your son is suffering from an acute purulent otitis media that in his care seems to be complicated since blood and puss is leaking form th ear. Your son's ear should be seen by an ENT specialist and I strongly recommend you that.
Ear channel, Ear drum and middle ear should be evaluated for any possible damage, and obviously a combined therapy with antibiotics and other drugs ought to be used.
Please have an appointment with the ENT specialist as soon as possible. Take care and best wishes! DR ERIOL.
