How Can Ear Congestion Be Treated?

I have a perforated eardrum and was operated on some years ago by a Dr Dan Vargas. My ear gets build-up of wax periodically and the Dr.Vargas has treated it in the past for this. I cannot locate him so he may be retired. My ear this week has been badly clogged and I have been putting in prescribed drops periodically, but now it is not helping and I am very concerned as I plan to be taking a flight soon so realize I need help asap....could you advise me please as it is a holiday weekend unfortunately.
