How Can Early Intake Of Galvusmet, Than Prescribed Time, Affect?
hello doctor, i m from the philippines and i have been trying to get answers online about what happened to my mom today. you see i made a mistake with her medicine. i was supposed to make her take galvusmet 50/500 before breakfast and before dinner. today i gave it to her this 11am and then 3pm.. so too soon. she complained of tremor in a matter of less then 2 minutes, which i doubt is true. but i still need to know your opinion on this. thank for your time and merry christmas to you.
Galvus met is a combination of two medicines which are less likely to bring the sugar to very low levels and in any case does not bring the sugar down within 2 minutes of taking. It is likely that your mother would have experienced hypoglycemic episode with a medicine like Sulphonyl urea or insulin and would be afraid of such episodes. It is more likely that this fear led to the tremors than a drop in the blood sugar.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Noble Zachariah, Internal Medicine Specialist
