How Can Excessive Thirst Along With Fatigue And Appetite Loss Be Treated?
I am a 50 yo woman, half hispanic. I started taking my hydrothroclazide again after a break a few days ago. I think I have overdosed. At least twice, perhaps 3 times I"ve taken an am and pm dose. I'm 5'4" 116lbs. Active, Fit. I'm drinking more water than I usually do. I'm tired. Pale. A little "out of it". Shiny gingiva. Loss of appetite. Please help! Thank you, Tama Thomas
Your symptoms could be due to side effects of Hydrochlorothiazide. It can lead to muscle pain and so weakness can be felt. Dry mouth can also occur because of that.
However, the lost appetite could not be because of Hydrochlorothiazide. For that liver, kidney profile and thyroid issues can be checked. If you feel excess thirsty then rule out diabetes by random blood sugar estimation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami,
General & Family Physician
