How Can Fever And Bloody Mucus Discharge From The Anus Be Treated?

Hi Dr., please I cannot sleep. My nine year old has passed gas twice within 3 hours, he noticed a wetness in his anus only to check it out and noticed it s like a brownish substance like a mixture of mucus and blood, he has also developed fever and cold like 2 hours ago.Please what can I do?

Your child is suffering from acute dysentry and is treated with oral antibiotics syp cefixime or tab cefixime BD dose for 7 days.... if associated with fever and right sides abdominal pain then amoebiasis can be considered for which it requires confirmation by stool examination for cysts of entamoeba histolytica.
