Hello Doctor, I am suffering from frequent fever and feeling tired all the day from 3 days. So I did blood test : 1. My Neutrophil is high at 84% from normal range(40%-75%). 2. lymphocytes is low at 08% from normal range(20%-45%). 3. Eosinophil is high at 06% from normal range(01%-4%). and my platelets are normal. Do i need to worry and what further test i should go for? Plz Suggest me how to recover from it.
It is important to realize that an abnormal increase in one type of white blood cell can cause a decrease in the percentage of other types of white blood cells. Usually it may increased in:
1. Acute infection
2. Acute stress
3. Eclampsia (seizures or coma in a pregnant woman)
4. Gout (type of arthritis due to uric acid buildup in the blood)
5. Myelocytic leukemia (a bone marrow cancer)
6. Rheumatoid arthritis
7. Rheumatic fever (disease due to an infection with group A streptococcus bacteria)
8. Thyroiditis (a thyroid disease)
9. Trauma, etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your physician he will examine for the correct cause for your problem then he will treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu, Internal Medicine Specialist
