How Can Hair Loss Be Treated While On A Potassium Supplement?

Hello, I am on potassium my hair has thinned so bad since taking this drug. What can I do to stop the hair loss? Or do I need another medication? Also, I am having lots of facial hair grow as I am getting older. I have to shave everyday. I am a female,!! What can I do to stop this?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Hair fall is multi factorial: hereditary/hormonal changes/lifestyle changes/stress/weather changes/poor diet and nutrition/dandruff/use of poor hair products, etc., to name a few. Since you mentioned that you have facial hair; I reckon you get blood tests and an USG pelvis to rule out PCOD. The hormonal imbalance is a major contributing factor in hair fall. You could start with a multivitamin with Biotin in it. Also, work on your nutrition levels too.
