How Can High Fever And Pink Spots On The Neck, Ear And Stomach In A 3-year-old Be Managed?
My 3 year old son had high fever for 2 and half days. No runny nose no cough no sneezing. No pain. Which all came down with meds. The highest was 104.7. Just once it went there. Then on the 3rd day it went up to 103. I gave meds at 2 oclock pm. After that the fever just kept going down. When fever goes down he plays and acts normal. Just tired and ask to aleep a few times. Today 4th day his temp it in the 99. 99.8 to 99.2. And he developed a few pink spots on him.maybe 6 On his stomach some by his neck and ear, only one or two on back. Is this a viral rash?
By what you say I feel that this could be a simple viral illness only.
Even the Rash could be a viral exanthem but unless I see the rush it is difficult to exactly opine upon it.
I will explain you how a viral illness behaves so that you can be more confident.
Fever of few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
