How Can High Intraocular Pressure Be Treated?

I have high intraocular pressure. I also have noticed that when awakening each morning my eyes have been shut really tight, probably all night. Could this cause the high pressure, or make it even higher than it already was? If so, I am trying to figure out how not to squeeze the eyes so tight when I m sleeping.
