How Can I Avoid Side Effects Caused Due To Intake Of Femilon?

Hello dr.. My. Age is 39 .. Im hvng short periods means it has b com 18-20 days cycle .. I hv a small cyst in left ovary .. N infection also fr which i was put on clingen then betadine suppostary.. Nw my dr has prescribed me femilon tab to regularize my periods.fr 3 months.. .but i hv heard tht its side effects include weight gain low sex drive n depression.. I am reluctant to tk it.. Pls help pls

Femilon tablet contains Desogestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol as active ingredients.
The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur due to ingredients of Femilon tablet.
1. Menstrual disturbances like irregular or no periods.
2. Emotional instability.
3. Acne.
4. Weight gain.
Some of the side-effects may be rare and you need to consult your doctor if you observe any of the side-effects noted, especially if they do not go away.
All of them who take the medication do not experience all the side effects. Also, proportion of side effects varies from person to person.
Kindly take the medications as recommended and do the necessary follow-up as advised by your doctor.
