Hi there my name is christopher lewis kerry and i am 22 years old and i have anxiety and depression and i have learning difficulties to i have been bullied all my life which is now making me so so petrified of getting onto the bus to go and see my local GP im here to see if i can get some advice on how to check if i have IBS

Unfortunately, there is no definitive test to diagnose IBS. The diagnosis of IBS is made by your clinical symptoms and ruling out all other possible causes of diarrhea/constipation. Your doctor may order different kind tests to rule out other causes for your clinical symptoms. Current criteria to diagnose IBS require a patient have at least 1-day abdominal pain per week for the last 3 months. The pain should be associated with the defecation, change in stool frequency or change in stool form or appearance.
