How Can Itching Along The Sides Of The Nose Be Treated?
I have developed an itching / burning skin rash along the sides of my nose. I use a CPAP machine at night and the rash corresponds to the area that the mask touches. I have been using the CPAP for years but this has occured just recently in the past few weeks. Lotions help the burning and itching but the rash remains.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is very common for the skin to respond in a different way to a certain stimulus even if you are used to it for many years. The burning and irritation of the skin could be very dry especially with the use of CPAP.
I suggest you use a mild steroidal cream mixed with a good moisturizer, but i would recommend have the area reviewed by your concerned doctor.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
