I have a red itchy rash that started on my waistline, has gone up my back, into my hair and, now has reached my forehead. I am trying desperately not to scratch it but, it s keeping my up at night. I need advice on what to do about it. I get advice from everybody as to what steps I should take but, I need a physicians opinion.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of itchy rashes, my treatment advice is -

1. We need to know few details about rashes. Are are annular, papular or erythematosus to reach the diagnosis.
2. At present apply an antifungal cream like Clotrimazole cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7-10 days.If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.
