Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Leg Swellings Caused By Sting Bites Be Treated?
was stung by three yellow jackets. on same leg. One on the inside at the ankle. the other two outside of leg just at lowest part of leg yesterday. inside still a little puffy looks ok outside stings are red and are larger than yesterday. but not overly swollen.
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns. This is only a local reaction following yellow jackets sting bites and a cold compress should decrease the inflammation. Since it is red and there is noticeable swelling you should take an antihistamine such as Levocetrizine 5 mg orally daily for 03 days, in addition to applying a cold compress.Take also booster dose of Inj. Tetanus toxoid.
