.Our 15 year old son had a lot of sinus drainage this past winter. This spring he started complaining that he could not smell or taste food very well. This has persisted even though his nose is not running. What could he take to get this cleared up??

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

He may be suffering from seasonal allergies. He may be suffering from sinusitis with nose blocks . In allergy patients they can't take feel smell due to allergy. Avoid cool drinks and freeze water. use face mask for allergens , avoid exposure to mites, animal dander or pollen. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
