Hello,

There are specific medications for migraine headaches called Triptans, which typically work very well against migraine headaches. Depending also on how often these headaches come about you may need a preventative agent such as Propranolol, Nortriptyline, or Topiramate.

I suggest you be examined by a neurologist or headache specialist since it would be in your interest to be thoroughly examined especially with the symptom of the temporary visual loss.
Though this sounds very consistent with the aura of a migraine headache there are other things that should be looked for as well.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi,
Neurologist
