How Can My Child's Sleeping Habits Be Regularized?

my baby will turn 4 months in a couple of days, he is formula fed, a couple of weeks ago he established a great night routine, he would sleep at 7pm, wake up at 12 am, feed, go back to sleep till 5 am, feed, then sleep till 7 or 8 am, then he had a cold that messed up his sleep, he would wake up every hour or so crying, after the cold went away he still woke up every hour, i tried feeding him but he wasn't hungry, for the last 3 days, he would sleep at 9pm, wake up at 1 crying (not hungry) slept and woke up at 5 am crying but also not hungry, i would love it if he would sleep through the night, coz it seems he does not need night feedings anymore

Thanks for the query.
Your concern is right about the habits of the child.
but at 4 months he is yet to develop a pattern. it will keep changing.
Besides he had respiratory infection because of which things have changed.
By your description it seems he is having blockage of Eustachian canal, which connects ear and nose. This is very common occurrence.
You can nebulize him with plain steam (preferably with nebulizer).
every time the child he is not hungry.
Now he will like to play too, go out, you will be able to see different angles of his personality development.
Pay attention and you will know what he wants.
If crying is continuous and persistant then visit your pediatrician.
I find this answer helpful
