How Can Nose Bleeds Be Managed While On Nature Thyroid?
my new physician changed my med from levothyroxine to nature thyroid about 2 months ago. I was not feeling well and asked for blood work to be done 1 week ago. subsequently I have had 5 nose bleeds. can you advise on a course of action ? thank you
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Nature Thyroid is also a thyroid hormone supplement like Levothyroxine. Nature Thyroid is unlikely to cause nose bleeds. Causes of nose bleed like hypertension, dry nose, bleeding disorders, medications like Aspirin should be looked into. While having active bleeding pinch your nostrils with towel and ice and lean forward. Recurrent episodes of nosebleeds require cauterization.
Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi
