How Can One Manage Gastritis And Sliding Hernia?

I have been diagnosed with Gastritas and a Sliding hernia after an endoscopy. This was after I had H Pylori and finished antibiotics etc. Since the endoscopy have been given ranadine 300mg daily. I feel worse now than when I had the Pylori bug, Seem to have a permanent band of discomfort all under my breasts. I have limited my diet to very bland and try to eat more frequently. There does not seem to be treatment for the Gastritas if that is what is causing the discomfort. I have today got some digestive enzymes and slippery elm to try out. help

Hi,

Most H. pylori-colonized persons do not develop clinical sequelae. That some persons (as in your case) develop the overt disease (chronic gastritis-antral, pangastritis, corpus gastritis) whereas others do not is related to a combination of factors: bacterial strain differences, host susceptibility to disease, and environmental factors. Diets high in antioxidants and vitamin C are modestly protective.

Presently, H2 Receptor Antagonists like ranitidine (as you have been prescribed), is often used for the treatment of active ulcers (4–6 weeks) in combination with antibiotics directed at eradicating H. pylori. Slippery elm may be helpful for acid reflux.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
