How Can Osteopenia Be Treated?

The endocrinologist I See wants me to start a med starting with b. for osteopenia. Checking with the dentist I worked for for years to make sure I am not going to have surgery on my mouth because of necrotizing etc. It sounds quite scary to me. 77 years old, just had a dexa scan. YYYY@YYYY I believe you take it once a week with a glass of water. I am taking quite a few other meds. Thank you. C.J.

Hello,

Calcium supplements and bisphosphonates are the way to go for you. Ensure you do not suffer traumas. You will be prone to pathological fractures, so watch out for that. It is also advisable to consume milk.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
