Hello there I have read through your question and would like to tell you that pain and swelling along with inability to move the shoulder joint all point towards a diagnosis of fracture. I would advise you to get his XRay shoulder joint done as soon as possible as delay may lead to complications. Meanwhile it would be better that he doesn't try to move the shoulder too much and keep it restricted with the help of a strap. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
