How Can Pain And Tightness In The Calf Muscle And Leg Be Treated?

Hi, my name is Danny.Around three weeks ago, I injured my calf muscle. I was only able to go to the hospital week later. When I did, I had an Ultrasound done. The doctor told me that it was just a pulled muscle and wasn t anything serious. Another week past and now I have a few other concerns. The first is the duration, it s almost three weeks now and my injury still don t feel like it s getting better. The second is the tightness, the muscles opposite of the knee caps feels tight and it s difficult to fully extend my leg straight. I m worried that if I don t try, my leg will tightened in this slight bent positing even after I fully heal. As such I ve tried to straighten it out from time to time, but now the upper connecting part of the calf(the part opposite of the side of knee cap) muscle has some slight pain. What should I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Consult a general surgeon and get a Doppler scan done.

As of now, analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol can be taken for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
