How Can Pain In An Ear Piercing Be Treated?

I got my ears pierced 3 moths ago and they still are not completely healed. If I leave the earrings out for even an hour or so It is very painful trying to get them back in. The hole seems to close up. Even when it is easy to get the earrings in it is very painful, like a burning pain.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think your ears have been infected. So, should keep good local hygiene (wash with warm water and soap; apply oxygenated water; and then apply Betaine locally; after that apply Polysporyn cream locally).
Should not wear the earrings yet until fully recovered. Furthermore, if the material of earrings is different from gold, you'll have more problems with allergy reactions non ending.
If still no improvement, should consult further with dermatologist as might need prescription medicines.

Wish you a fast recovery
