How Can Pain In The Wrists Be Treated?

Started 15mg once a day Meloxicam for two weeks. Releaved body pains and about 75% of swelling in wrist and fingers of both hands. I can still grip a golf club loosley. Hard to twist bottle caps etc. What do you recommend to help with Meloxicam? My recent blood test are negative. I am 77, long time athlete with one each hip and knee replaced. Also taking blood thinner.
