How Can Pain Pill Withdrawal Symptoms Be Remedied At Home?

Hello - are there any home remedies to stop pain pill withdrawls, I had an operation 6 months ago and all the dr has done is to continue to refill my meds and now when I try to take aleve or some OTC I get horribly sick, cant function, I have thrown out my pain pills and know that I will pay a price tomorrow and the next days, I need help I am a mother, a ft employee and school student, I cant sleep this away.. help please

Hello and thank you for your question. The best way to get off pain pills is to taper your self off slowly. If you really have destroyed the pills then you will have to go through the withdrawal from them and no home remedy can help with that. It is best to call your doctor and have them help you with a taper off the pills. If you decide to just stay off them, then the worst of the withdrawal will be over in a few days, but the sleep disturbance can go on for weeks. If you take a medication like omeprazole with the ibuprofen or aleve it may help your stomach tolerate the over the counter pain meds.
