How Can Painful Rashes In The Groin Area Be Treated?
hi I have had lichen scolrosis (sp?) for about 10 or 12 years. It itichs like crazy . Had biopsies for several things things and they are all ok. Dr. had me on a steroid creme and I did not know to use it for two weeks and I used it for over a year. Tissue is so thin it tears. The area between the vigina and anus is very bad now. I have used desitin, and many things but to wipe is very painful and makes it worse. I also hae IBS so that makes it worse too. Been to several dr. s and none of them even have an idea of what to do. One did not even look at it, just said to use athlete foot creme. I am 75 yrs old and read all I can on the internet and they all say there is no cure. Any idea of something I can use for the pain. thank you in advance
Hello Welcome to Ask a Doctor service I have reviewed your query, and here is my advice Skin lesion needs to be ruled out for psoriasis, if this is so then no cure is there but natural remission is there, using steroid is best option in either of case, IBS is functional disease and not the pathology you have to come out of this like to avoid the stress, no need to pay any nonspecific abdomen complaints, have enough of sleep, take care for good hygiene to avoid the fungal infection of anal region and surrounding areas, anti-fungal cream can be used, routine medical examination and routine tests are advisable Hope I have answered your query, let me know if I can assist you further.
