How Can Painful Soreness In The Leg Caused Due To A Sprain Be Treated?

I rolled my ankle on Monday in a basketball game and it’s still sore on the outside of my ankle and on the outside of my leg. I can walk, run and jump with out it hurting. Should i be okay to play my tournament tomorrow? Or should I take short shifts?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

A sprain can very well be managed by conservative measures.

Apply ice packs and take bed rest for few days. You can try analgesics like Aceclofenac and Tramadol also.

Generally, the symptoms will settle and if persists, better to consult an orthopedician and go for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
