Hello Doctor, Yes , I asking on behalf of my 81 year old mum who has been experiencing pain with a varicous vein. The vein itself starts just above the ankle and stops at the arch of her foot. This is the right foot which has the problem vein and as far as we are aware she has never had one of these before. She is saying that it is very painful and I have noticed that she has been woken up at night with it as well . mum also does suffer from cramps however these have been relieved somewhat since we began her on magnesium tablets 3 times a day and have taken her of coffee as well. Mum has also had some cardio problems one heart attack 2 years ago and at that time the surgeon wanted to put stents in the valves however only did one at the time due to running out of theatre time..... I have been pushing for her to get the other ones put in however the doctor now says that its too risky....anyway, just wondering if there is any way of reducing her pain regarding the vein?
