How Can Persistent Headaches And Frequent Migraines Be Treated?
I deal with daily headaches and frequent migraines. There have been few days over the past 18 years that I have not had this pain. Doctors have tried spinal taps to test for pseudo tumor cerebri. Mri/mra. Nerve blocks. Medications and more. For the past 19 days my pain level has not dipped below a 6/10. My doctors have either given up and discharged me or are so confused they don t know what to say or do. I do not want addictive medications but answers. The pain comes from my neck and radiates throughout my head as though someone is constantly banging on drums. My nerves are constantly firing/misfiring sending what feels like electrical charges throughout my body with touch. I do not even know where to start looking for help to figure out what I can do to have even just 1 day of relief from this pain. I feel like I am in a constant fog or cloud. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2009 during the same time I was being treated for my cluster migraines . I am desperate to find a direction to get a resolution so I can continue working and not have to worry about losing my ability to work. Please. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Given the normal tests, I believe the headaches may be in the setting of fibromyalgia. Usually, preventive treatment with antidepressants is helpful. However, it is difficult to make more specific recommendations without providing some more info on what medication you have already tried and failed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
