How Can Persistent Throat Pain With White Mass At The Tonsil Despite Various Tests Be Diagnosed And Treated?
Hi, there so I have been having persistent throat pain on left side now for almost 3 months, I have had many test done including X-rays, ultrasounds, throat swabs, blood test, and an endoscopic exam and can’t figure out what’s causing this pain. I can also see somthing white like a ball of puss or a tonsil stone in the back of my tonsils each side
Your symptoms are indicative of infection in the tonsil stone due to which you are experiencing pain throat on the left side. Do regular gargle with salt water and keep yourself adequately hydrated. You are advised to get it clinically examined and evaluated by an ENT. Infected tonsils will be treated with pain relieving medicines, like Naproxen to be taken after food and when needed. You will be prescribed a course of Augmentin or Penicillin. If needed your treating doctor will recommend tonsillectomy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
