Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Alcohol is a stimulant of the nervous system and the part of the brain involved with vomiting. Removal of alcohol and withdrawal stimulates the brain even up to the point of seizures and this can cause vomiting by a different mechanism. Mild sedation and sedation of the part of the brain involved in vomiting will lower the vomiting. These are prescription drugs (phenerzine). Ginger ale might help. BUT loss of fluid is dangerous and if not able to hold down liquid for 24 hrs or more requires medical attention. Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, this would be a bad situation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
