How Can Poor Appetite And Constipation In A Child Be Treated?

HI Doc, My son is 4 and half months old, He is fussy with feeding. Hardly drinks 600 ml in the entire day. went to a specialist few weeks back, he advised to start solids and prescribed omeprazole 2ml twice a day. Started with solids like pureed veggies. Still his milk intake is not more than 600 ml. Poo is constipated. Neither gained weight nor increased the length. Rather he lost around 150 gms. Quite worried.Kindly advice. (His birth weight was 3.73kgs now 6.4 kgs. )

hai thank you for your question. i would suggest you to give him albendazole plus syrup 200mg at night one time. it can be due to helminthic infection. once the worms come out through stools he wil regain his apetite. i would suggest you to stop givibg solids and purely feed him on breast milk. it will hav what the baby wants. feed him other foods only when he is 6 months.
