Hi I didn t know that this was a question event, but I will ask one anyway. I am to have lasik in my right eye only to bring it to 20/20 for distance. My left eye is strong for reading. So I guess this is monovision. What adjustments do I need to make and do you feel that this type of Lasik is more successful than not. Thank YOU
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Eye doctor is to examine the eye refraction and correct the error detected. It is to be discussed with lasik surgeon and take his opinion regarding suitability of this surgery.
Doctor will examine to exclude diabetes, any inflammatory condition of cornea, corneal dystrophy, etcetera. If lasik surgeon agrees then you can go for surgery.
If there is no reason for contraindication then can be corrected by spectacless or contact lens can be considered.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
