How Can Pressure In The Chest And Shortness Of Breath Be Treated?

My chest is tight / heavy right under my sternum. I am finding it a little hard to breath without making an conscience effort to do so. I have taken 2 otc benadryl several hours ago. I have also used my pro air inhaler 3 times now. I just want to lay on the couch. My head feels like it is wrapped in a tight towel. I am allergic to cats and did move 5 this morning. Hence taking the benadryl.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

* The issue seems to be acute allergic bronchitis.

* Needs immediate evaluation with peripheral oxygen saturation, vital parameters of respiratory and cardiac regions.

* Till that time period, deep breathing exercises with the preference of semi-reclining position when resting is best.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
