How Can Pressure In The Ears Be Relieved?

I had a flu that subsided about after a week. The next day my right ear became really tight and felt a lot of pressure. My ear has felt like it’s closed up and on a pressure scale about 8/10. It’s been that way for about a week all day and night. Tried antibiotics for the past week. No change.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be suffering from acute eustachian tube block. It may be due to acute sinusitis or eustachian tube block or allergy etc. Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Use tablet sinarest twice a day for five days ( if you're hypertensive then won't take). Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
