How Can Prolonged Chest Pain Be Treated In A TB Patient?
Hello Dr. Rynne! Good afternoon. I was diagnosed with TB last 2004 and treated but since I am applying for work I have to have chest PA. The problem is I always get into trouble with the results because of the scar left. The City Health Office compared my x-ray result before and after the treatment and undergone sputum exam and declared me treated and cured. I also got fat after that till now, but everytime I have chest PA exam I always got this trouble.. I am not even hiding my history and i also aware them of my history and even showing them the x-rays and certificate. I even share it to others so if ever they will suffer TB they should tell and go for treatment and never be afraid because it can be treated. This gives depression to everyone who felt the same way as I do. Others don t get good jobs, others got deported and so on.. Others say Chest PA exams is ruining lives and sometimes might be asking themselves on what way do they want us to live? No wonder other good people gone bad. Is there anyway I can clear lungs from scar or anyway to treat it? It s been 13 years I still got in trouble with that even in getting a renewal for Sanitary Permit for a tiny business. Please and thank you.

How Can Prolonged Chest Pain Be Treated In A TB Patient?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. First of all, let me congratulate on all your efforts for other people s support who are suffering from tuberculosis. Sorry to say, but the scar tissue of the treated and healed tuberculosis remains as such for the rest of the life, there is no cure of that. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
