How Can Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding Be Treated While Having Adenomyosis?

I didn't get my period for about 60 days and went to doctor. She prescribed meprate and after taking it for 3 days I got my period. Then the next 2 months period was normal. Then again I did not get my period for next 60 days. After that I got it and it was very heavy bleeding with full of clots. Then again I went to the doctor and she prescribed meprate and the bleeding got stopped. For further evaluation a scan was done andeal it says I have edinomys. But my uterus is normal sized and I have no cramps during periods. My gynec says hysterectomy is the solution. I am 44 yrs old with 3 daughters. Please advice

Hi,

In your age, irregular periods are normal, it may be due to hormonal imbalance. Ask your doctor to start medical treatment for your complaints. If medical treatment is not useful, then hysterectomy is an option.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Soumya, OBGYN
