How Can Raspy Voice And Sore Throat Be Treated?

I have had a weak voice for three months. Started going for speech therapy end of January. My voice was weak. It would get fatigued from talking so used an amplifier. In voice therapy she had me project words even though I said I was nervous and voice was weak from talking. She encouraged me to do so. I said about fifteen to twenty word projecting. Raspy voice that night and next day sore to talk. Over two weeks now and still sore to talk and after talking. Scope done five days ago and looked okay. Hemmoorhage is almost gone. ENT said not to go on vocal rest. There is no reason. What should I do? I have been talking minimally. Still hurts. Some difficulty swallowing. Worried about permanent damage. I have missed several days of work as a result as I need my voice for work.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You should get an endoscopic examination of the larynx done to rule out any vocal cord pathology. The management will depend on the reports.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
